Refund Policy

1. Current Payment Model
⚠️ Direct Payments Between Users
StrangerHelp currently operates on a direct payment model. All payments are made directly between the task poster and the task claimer outside our platform (via UPI, cash, or other agreed methods).
Since StrangerHelp does not process or hold any payments, we cannot issue refunds.
2. Payment Disputes
If a payment dispute arises between a task poster and claimer:
- Step 1: Communicate with the other party via in-app messages
- Step 2: Share payment proofs (screenshots, UPI transaction IDs) via messages
- Step 3: If unresolved, report the issue to us — we can review stored messages and completion proofs
- Step 4: Accounts violating payment agreements may be suspended
3. Protecting Yourself
Tips for Task Claimers:
- Verify payment terms with the poster via messages before starting work
- Confirm the payment method (UPI ID, etc.) in the chat
- For larger tasks, request partial payment upfront
- Always upload completion proofs as evidence
- Keep payment confirmation screenshots in the chat
Tips for Task Posters:
- Only pay after verifying completion proofs
- Use the in-app chat for all payment-related communication
- Send payment confirmation via messages for your records
- Report users who don't complete tasks properly
4. Upcoming: Karma Wallet Escrow
We are building the Karma Wallet — a secure escrow system where:
- Task poster's payment will be held securely by StrangerHelp
- Payment released to claimer only after task completion is verified
- Automatic refunds if task is not completed
- Built-in dispute resolution with evidence review
Karma Wallet is coming soon. Until then, please use the direct payment model carefully.
